Licenses/Elopements

Elopement Options For Modern Couples

Let Rev. Martin do the work and apply for and pick up your marriage license!

Why do couples elope?

Your reasons are your own. Maybe you want to avoid the stress and tension that comes with planning a traditional wedding. Maybe your home state doesn't recognize or allow same-sex marriage. Perhaps you just want to save money. Maybe you truly feel the need to avoid family politics. Or you're looking for something fun, simple and yet beautiful. It doesn't matter the reason. What matters is that you have Rev. Martin here to take care of everything for you and simplify the process.

In Washington, DC, the law requires a three day waiting period from the day you apply for your license until the day you can pick it up and use it. So, if you apply on a Monday, you can't pick up your license until Friday. And if you want to get married at the courthouse, you need to make an appointment that adds another 10 to 14 days to the process. It's time-consuming, requires multiple trips to the courthouse, and it truly is a hassle!
So, hire me to be your proxy and take care of the whole license application for you. You simply furnish me with the required items, and I obtain your license for you, usually within 7 to 10 days. In the meantime, from the comforts of your own home, we plan a custom ceremony just for the two of you. Your ceremony should be as casual, spiritual or religious as you desire. This is your wedding, and I will do everything I can to make it one of the most beautiful days of your life. I promise you I will do a great job!

In Maryland, you can apply for your marriage license and pick it up the same day, but it doesn't become valid until the 2nd day after it was issued. However, in Maryland, you can also apply for your license via mail, using their Non-Resident Application form. Either way, once you have your license, I am ready to marry you.
